Puerto Ricans display their talent at Boqueron

BOQUERON, Cabo Rojo, July 25 2010.- Puerto Rico displayed a great show for the fans and joined Venezuela, Mexico and Dominican Republic as winners of their pools in the preliminary round of the Games.

It was an exciting match and a great battle for the first spot of Pool A, between Rodriguez/Irizarry (PUR) and Medrano/Vargas (ESA) with Puerto Ricans winning 21-17 and 22-20. “We must win both matches tomorrow and stay in control” said Rodriguez.

Hernández/Villafañe (VEN) continue winning and are first in Pool B. Today they defeated without difficulties Villegas/Guevara (CRC) by score of 21-13, 21-13.

In Pool C, Miramontes/Virgen (MEX) prevailed over Lewis/Wilson (JAM) and are solid for the next round. “This is the first step, we’re much better and catching up our rhythm” expressed Miramontes.

“I hope to win a medal” were Yewddys Perez words of Dominican Republic as him and German Recio won over Garrido/Recinos (GUA).
